Accelerated Reader Program

What is Accelerated Reader (AR)?
The Accelerated Reader (AR) program is a computerized system for schools that encourages students to read by having them take quizzes on books they've finished and awarding points for correct answers. Students are typically assessed to find their reading level, and the program helps them choose books at that level to build reading skills. After reading a book, students take a short, multiple-choice comprehension quiz, and they earn points based on their score and the book's complexity.

How the Accelerated Reader (AR) Program Works:

  1. Students will need to pick out a book and see if it is a book that is an accepted book in the AR program. You can check if the book counts towards AR at this website Accelerated Reader Bookfinder.

  2. On the website you will choose that you are a "student", and then type the title of your book, and it will tell you how many AR points the book is worth. You can use an advanced search option to search for a book instead of adding a specific title

  3. Once the student has found a book and has read the book, they will need to log into their account via the AR Login page hosted by Renaissance and take a quiz to get points. AR Login Here.
